30 years with Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA)

Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) began flight operations to the United States in 1985, and is the only international cargo airline based in Japan. With a corporate philosophy emphasizing safe operations as their first priority, NCA has an impressive accident-free track record throughout their history. Today, NCA operates regular flights to 15 cities in Asia, the United States and Europe with a fleet of five Boeing 747-400Fs and Eight Boeing 747-8Fs. They have expanded their worldwide network through cooperation with both domestic and international partner airlines, and have global charter flight services, taking advantage of the features of wide-body freighters.

NCA started its operations in 1985 using Nordisk’s cargo equipment, and then purchasing their own cargo equipment from Nordisk in 1988. NCA has shown continual commitment to conservation of the environment and is one of nordisk’s most innovative, early-adopter customers, first introducing Nordisk light weight cargo pallets in 2007 and establishing the Green Freighter environmental logo in June 2009.

In May 2018, Nordisk showed its appreciation of the 30 year milestone between the companies, by presenting NCA with a special real-size cut-corner pallet, marking their first order with Nordisk in 1988. As Sim Boon Yang, Vice President Sales and Business Development APAC & PRC, Nordisk Aviation Products says: ”We are proud to have worked with NCA over the past 30 years, experiencing fuel saving and light weight pallet innovation milestones together, going from 102 kg 30 years ago, to the 86 kg ULDs in the NCA cargo equipment fleet today”.

The commemorative pallet corner was presented to the NCA team, with a positive response.  “On behalf of all NCA, we appreciate that Nordisk and your products always support us.  We hope that we keep a close and strong relationship with you for many years to come.” Kuniaki Inoaka, Vice President & General Manager, Cargo and Ground Operation Nippon Cargo Airlines.

We would like to congratulate NCA on their achievements and thank them for their continued commitment to Nordisk. We look forward to a close business relationship for many years to come.
