Nordisk welcomes new President, Richard Betts
In January 2018, we welcomed Richard Betts as the new President of Nordisk Aviation Products. Richard has held various roles in Bridport Aviation (now Amsafe Bridport) since 2003 and his extensive experience and expertise in the air cargo industry will be a valuable resource both for our customers and the Nordisk team.
Richard joined Bridport Aviation while based in Sri Lanka, having originally travelled to the country to support his wife (whose job transferred from the UK) as a house husband and father to their newly born daughter. He later held two positions in Sri Lanka for Bridport Aviation - first opening the customer service centre in Colombo and then more recently as Factory Manager. Richard then transferred back to the UK in 2010 to take up more global roles, firstly as Operations Director based at the Bridport facility, then as Sales & Marketing Director.
Richard told us he was delighted to become President of Nordisk Aviation Products, when we met him in May. “I am particularly looking forward to working with the new leadership team, to put customers at the forefront of everything we do. Nordisk is a respected name in the air cargo industry for high quality products and service. We aim to continue our hard work to make Nordisk the supplier of choice for air cargo customers, focusing particularly on innovation to offer customers new solutions to their challenges as well as development of our team’s expertise and capacity to facilitate further growth over the next 5 years. I may even get time to learn Norwegian too!”
Richard is married with two teenage daughters and lives in Lyme Regis on the south coast of the UK. He is a keen sports spectator and enjoys running with his daughter. He has already been challenged by his new colleagues in Norway to take up cross country skiing. As a complete novice, it is a challenge that he is relishing!
